Beginner’s guide to Climbing Kilimanjaro

For a first-time climber, route selection is the decision that most determines your experience and your summit odds. The most important variable isn’t the route’s terrain or scenery — it’s how many days the route gives your body to acclimatise to altitude..

Lemosho Route – 8 days.

Our most-recommended for the first timers

Machame Route – 7 days.

Both give your body the acclimatization time it needs;

Kilimanjaro Safety Medical Protocols & Evacuation Plan

We hear operators say “safety is our top priority” so often that the phrase has stopped meaning anything. So we’ll tell you what we actually do — the specific protocols, the thresholds, the certifications, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Our Team

Who are we?

Most Kilimanjaro operators will tell you they’re the best. We’ll skip that and tell you something more useful: we’re based in Moshi, we own and run every part of your climb — guides, porters, cooks, and equipment — and our company was built around a simple conviction. The way a company treats its crew tells you exactly how it will treat you.

Our porters are paid fairly. Our group sizes stay small — typically 3 to 10 climbers — so your guide actually knows how you’re feeling by day three. If you’re looking for the cheapest ticket up the mountain, we’re not it. If you’re looking for people you can trust with something that matters, you’re in the right place.

WHY TO CLIMB WITH US

Small groups, deliberately.
We keep groups between 3 and 10 climbers. This isn’t a constraint — it’s a decision. A smaller group means your guide knows your name, your pace, and your condition. It means no one disappears into the middle of a crowd on summit night.

Your guide has real authority.
If your lead guide decides you need to descend, you descend. No pressure from the office. No incentive to push you past what’s safe. Your guide’s job is to get you to the top and get you back down — in that order of importance.

Your crew is treated right.
Every porter receives 10–12 USD per day, paid directly to them the moment you descend. No middlemen. Weight limits are enforced at the gate by TANAPA — 20kg maximum per porter. Every porter gets a sleeping bag and waterproof kitbag. We check on their wellbeing throughout the trek.

Dietary requirements are not a problem.
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal — our cooks have prepared all of it. Tell us when you book.

We’re based here.
Our office is in Moshi. When you have a question at midnight before your climb starts, someone who actually knows the mountain answers it.
